Tesco Bank's Armed Forces Network marks Remembrance Day
10 November 2016 By Nigel Jones
As we approach Remembrance Day, we prepare to commemorate members of the Armed Forces and reflect on the sacrifices they have made for our freedom and security. At Tesco Bank, we are committed to supporting our military colleagues through our Armed Forces Network, which provides support for veterans and members of the reserve forces working for Tesco Bank and their families.
The Armed Forces Network is open to all colleagues, whether they have a military connection or not, and brings together ex-military and reservist colleagues to help former and serving Armed Forces personnel have successful careers at Tesco Bank. Members of the network also look outside Tesco Bank to support servicemen and women leaving the Armed Forces, helping them to adjust to life after the military. It also provides support to colleagues who have family members in the Armed Forces.
Tesco Bank offers an industry-leading reservist package that includes two weeks’ full pay for mandatory training and an additional five days’ fully paid leave for military activities.
This year, Tesco Bank is marking Remembrance Day with two events. Firstly, this week, we held a working lunch for service leavers who have less than a year left in the Navy, the Army and the RAF, to enable them to find out more about the career opportunities available at Tesco Bank. Attendees were given the opportunity to learn about the culture and values of the Bank and also find out more about the Armed Forces Network.
Later in the month, we’ll also host members of the Army Reserves at our Edinburgh headquarters to give colleagues an opportunity to understand what is involved in being a Reserve.
