PayQwiq – making it faster and easier for customers to shop in Tesco

19 May 2017 By Mark Loch

We know that some of our customers want to be able to pay using their phone in Tesco. That is why, around a year ago, we started to roll-out PayQwiq, our digital wallet, to Tesco stores. We set out to develop a mobile payments app that made paying in Tesco quicker, easier and more rewarding and I am delighted to say that - a year on - the feedback from customers has been incredibly positive. PayQwiq has helped customers make millions of transactions since launch, with a PayQwiq payment now being made in Tesco every 5 seconds.

Since we initially launched the app, we have continued to refine it to ensure that PayQwiq is the fastest and easiest way for the millions of customers who shop at Tesco to pay for their groceries and fuel and collect Clubcard points with a simple scan of their phone. Customers have told us they love the reward and payment combination, which means that they don’t need to swipe their Clubcard and their payment card separately.

PayQwiq is simple to set up, safe to use and has a transaction limit of £250, meaning customers can use PayQwiq to pay for their weekly shop and more. It’s also available on all iOS and Android smartphones, not just newer models.

We are delighted that new customers continue to download and use PayQwiq every day, and as a thank you to new customers who sign up to PayQwiq, they can collect up to 500 extra Clubcard points when they use the app – that’s 100 points for each week they pay with the app, for up to 5 weeks.  The offer is available to new customers who sign up to PayQwiq between 17th May and 3rd September 2017 and make all 5 payments by 31st October 2017. See additional terms and conditions below.

Next time you’re shopping at Tesco, try PayQwiq at the till and let us know what you think via the ‘Give Feedback’ option in the app. We’d love to hear from you.

Mark
