Creating a genuinely diverse and inclusive workplace means being a gender-balanced employer. And we know that we still have some work to do. That’s why we’ve signed up to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, which aims to deliver gender balance at all levels in the financial services industry.
To meet that commitment, we’re working to support and attract female talent, to equip and empower our leaders and to build a truly inclusive culture. We have also set three targets to improve female representation at the highest levels of our business:
One third of our Board members to be female by end of 2020.
One third of our Executive Committee members to be female by end of 2020.
One third of our Directors to be female by end of 2022.
Women at Tesco
Our Women at Tesco network is here to make sure that women have every opportunity to make the most of their careers with us. Join the network and you’ll have more than 300 colleagues ready to offer support and advice, ensuring nothing stands in the way of realising your potential. And, because it works closely with Tesco Group’s wider network, it offers the chance to explore a range of career development opportunities across the global Tesco business.
The network empowers its members – helping women take charge of their own development and progress within Tesco Bank. With a programme of events throughout the year, together with informal contacts and meetings, there are a wide range of opportunities to get advice and support from fellow members.
Women at Tesco Network Events
On Thursday 22 November, our Women at Tesco network are delighted to welcome a panel of speakers to 'Everyone's Welcome - Be The Difference'. This event will explore what is meant by diversity, why diversity matters and how we can all contribute to the diversity narrative. This event is free and open to all Tesco Bank colleagues.
We look beyond our own networks to support the leading voices for women in the industry. That’s why we’re proud to work in partnership with Women in Business and Finance and Everywoman – both of which celebrate and support women in the industry, working to achieve equal representation and close the gender gap.
