Bringing our Current Account to Northern Ireland

Since 2013, the Current Account Switching Service has helped over 3.9 million people to switch their account from one provider to another. The switching service takes the hassle out of switching and has been an important step in driving greater competition in the market.
Today, we launched our Current Account in Northern Ireland, marking a key milestone in our commitment to providing genuinely helpful products and services for customers across the UK. Prior to launching, we talked to hundreds of customers in Northern Ireland to understand their attitudes towards their current account, their bank and to explore what they really wanted from their account. People in Northern Ireland told us they wanted additional rewards and credit interest with their current account, both of which our account offers.
Our research also revealed a healthy attitude to switching in Northern Ireland - 37% of people claimed to have switched their current account and 1 in 5 people said they are actively considering switching, but haven’t done it as yet.
We are thrilled that from today, customers in Northern Ireland will have another choice in the current account market, a choice which will not only be one of the most competitive, but also one of the most rewarding accounts available.
We believe that people should be empowered to choose a current account which meets their needs, but which also provides real benefits to them. We've worked hard developing our product to ensure that it is simple to understand, easy to apply for and provides transparency on fees and charges, all while rewarding customers with competitive credit interest and Clubcard points on spending.
To celebrate the launch of our Current Account in Northern Ireland we’re taking this product on tour. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be visiting a number of stores across Northern Ireland, giving customers the chance to find out more about us and our Current Account product. All events will run from 10am-2pm and we look forward to welcoming customers along.
